Albert Silva Obituary

Loving Husband, Father, and Grampy

DRACUT

Albert J. Silva, 76, a lifelong resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2021 after a hard fought battle with Parkinson Disease, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline "Cooky" T. (Vasey) Silva to whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Al was a proud and loving husband, father and grampy. He was born in Dracut on September 8, 1944 to Joseph Silva & Mary (Gomes Orphio) Silva Lavoie.

Big Al was a talented carpenter in Local Union 111 and continued to build for those he loved after retirement. Later in life, he worked alongside his brother, Eddie, at his farm on Broadway Road. He loved the Red Sox, Patriots, watching golf and scratching tickets with his daughter Tricia. He also enjoyed his monthly breakfast club with the guys, family dinners with Aunt Sally and every Hallmark Christmas movie ever made. He enjoyed talking politics and trips to Foxwoods with his sister Mary, special visits with his sister Diana and any time his brothers, Alfonse, Tony and Richie, came home from California. Al also held membership at the Dracut Civic Club. He cherished time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the most.

In addition to his loving wife Cooky, Al leaves his three children. Tricia A. Silva of Littleton, NH, Albert J. Silva and wife Kelly of Methuen, MA and Lori A. Silva and husband Michael Swinyer of Littleton, NH. He also leaves six loving grandchildren who thought he was larger than life. Ashley Silva, Justin Grant and Jack Costa of Littleton, NH, his sweetheart, Shae Silva of Methuen, MA and Adalyn and Ellie Swinyer of Littleton, NH. Three Great Grandchildren, Avaleigh Grant, Everett Silva and his sister arriving in April, of Littleton, NH. He is also survived by his three sisters, four brothers, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, eight brothers and one sister; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in law. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
