Alice Rose Obituary

Sister Alice Rose, SC of the Sisters of Charity, taught in Lowell; 85 TAUNTON Sister Alice Rose, SC, 85, of the Sisters of Charity of Halifax, died Oct. 9, at Life Care Center of Raynham, after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Walter F. and the late Ida (Keegan) Rose. Born June 6, 1922, in Boston, she was educated in Dorchester, graduating from Dorchester High School. Sister then professed her vows entering her life with the Sisters of Charity. She worked with the Sisters in Halifax, Long Island, New York, as well as St. Kevin's in Dorchester, and Riverton, New Jersey. She taught at St. Peter's School in Lowell, and with the Mickmack Indians in Maine. She then taught at the original Butler School for the City of Lowell as a reading specialist, and then taught at St. Joseph's Elementary School, St. Michael's School, and Immaculate Conception School. Sister volunteered at Lowell General Hospital in the Birthing Unit, and also served on the Lowell Housing Authority Council. More recently, Sister loved working with the Community of St. Kathryn's in Hudson, N.H. She is survived by a sister, Mary Crockett of Chelmsford; a sister-in-law, Esther Bellville of Rockland; and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late George Rose and the late John Rose. YOU ARE INVITED TO HER VISITATION ON FRIDAY MORNING FROM 10 UNTIL 11 A.M. AT ST. KATHRYN'S CHURCH, 4 DRACUT RD., HUDSON, NH.
