Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt

LOWELL

Much loved mother, grandmother, aunt, teacher, and respected contributor to her community. Cecelia Theresa (Houle) Reardon passed away on September 25, 2022, at the age of 94. Cecelia was born in Biddeford, Maine, the eldest child of Albert and Estelle (Guevin) Houle, grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, spent her married life in Lowell, Massachusetts and then many happy years in Ogunquit, Maine. She is survived by her son, Daniel Reardon (Gul), her daughters, Mary Conway (Michael) and Cecely Reardon (Robert Barker), her grandson, David Silva, and her granddaughter, Estelle Reardon. She also leaves her dear sisters and brother, Constance Chartier (Gene), Priscilla McLaughlin (John), and Paul Houle (MaryLou), many adored nieces, nephews, and so many others who looked to her as a second mother. Cecelia was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Joseph K. Reardon, and her brother Norman Houle. Cecelia was a graduate of Worcester State Teachers College and Assumption College and received her master's degree in French from the Sorbonne. Cecelia taught in the Whitinsville and Dracut public schools before retiring to raise her children and begin her involvement in many civic organizations. Cecelia served as a trustee at the Lowell City Library, and on the boards of the Catholic College Club, Guild of the Infant Savior, Friends of St. Joseph Hospital, and the Ladies of St. John's Hospital. Cecelia was also an active member of the Lowell Garden Club, the PTA at Notre Dame Academy and Westbridge School, a lector at Sacred Heart Church and a committed patron of the Merrimack Reparatory Theater and the Brush Gallery. Cecelia was never happier than when spending time with friends and family, especially with her grandchildren, and is remembered by all who met her for her generosity of heart and spirit, her love of the arts, and her passion for a good lobster roll with a glass of beer. We would like to thank the amazing staff at Sunrise of Burlington who cared so much and made such a difference for Cecelia in her final days.



Family and Friends may call at THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STRRET, LOWELL, on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2022, from 4 until 8 PM. Cecelia's FUNERAL will begin on FRIDAY MORNING OCTOBER 14 at 10 o'clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her FUNERAL MASS at 11 o'clock at THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 144 EAST MERRIMACK STREET, LOWELL. Burial will follow in ST. MARY'S CEMETERY, N. TEWKSBURY.
