He was born in Boston on July 10, 1938, a son of the late James and Alice E. (Kavanaugh) Cushing. He had lived in Chelmsford for 31 years and was a former resident of Quincy.
Mr. Cushing was a Navy veteran. Prior to his retirement, he was a computer engineer for Honeywell-Bull in Billerica.
He was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Gulosh and her husband Jason of Williamsburg, Va., and Cathleen Cushing of Boston; and two brothers, Richard Cushing and his wife Joanne of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Robert Cushing and his wife Ann of Wilmington, Del.
He also leaves wife's parents, Thomas and Eleanor Callan of Chelmsford; three brothers-in-law, Thomas Callan and his wife Dorothy, residing in North Carolina, Daniel Callan and his wife Carol, and Kevin Callan, all of Tewksbury; a sister-in-law, Patricia Kivijarv and her husband Hans, residing in Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
