Loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather

U.S. Air Force Veteran

LOWELL -- Donald Andrew Auger, a resident of Belvidere, died Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Lowell General Hospital, aged 76 years. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Joan (Lesniak) Auger for 36 years.

Born and raised in Lawrence, he was a son of the late Gaston and Alice (Bilodeau) Auger. He graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of 1957.

Mr. Auger enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1957 and served with the 4520th Combat Crew Training Wing of Tactical Air Command until his honorable discharge in 1961. After proudly serving his country, he began a successful career as a Computer Technician at Raytheon and Avco of Lowell, which later became Textron Defense Systems of Wilmington, where he worked for 38 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lowell Elks.

Donald enjoyed many family vacations in the mountains of New Hampshire, camping at Wyman's Beach in Westford, and traveling to San Francisco, California. Truly a person with a great, loving heart, he was deeply loved by his family.

He is survived by three children, Donald E. Auger and his wife, Grace, Mary Auger, and Christopher Auger and his wife Cynthia. He was the beloved grandfather of Marisa, Andria, Julia, Donnie, Elizabeth, Kurt Michael, Krystal, Katie, Kylie and Kristopher, and great-grandfather of Lily, Gavin, Amanda, Brennan, Deklin, and Noah. He also leaves five brothers-in-law, Ronald Pearson and his wife, Patricia, John A. "Punky" Lesniak Sr. and his wife, Barbara, William C. Lesniak, Henry "Mickey" Lesniak and his wife, Linda, and Mark Lesniak and his wife, Jeanne. Also, several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; all whom he adored.

He was the brother of the late Diane (Auger) Pearson and Jack Auger, and brother-in-law of the late Cheryl Lesniak.

AUGER -- In Lowell, October 8, 2015. Donald Andrew Auger, of Lowell, aged 76 years. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Joan (Lesniak) Auger. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM. Mr. Auger's funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 8:45 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church (lower church), 144 E. Merrimack St., Lowell, at 10 AM. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. So sorry to hear of Dons passing. He was a great mentor to me at Avco back in the 80s. I've never forgotten him over the years. He touched so many lives.
