Uncle Pete was an Uncle everyone should be so fortunate to have and know. His handshake, jokes, spirt, prayers when we needed hope and prayers of thanks when our families were together helped me learn at a young age what is important in life. I am thankful and grateful. I know he has impacted many lives. Rest in peace Pal !

The paths of life Pete and I traveled crosed 45 years ago because of our mutual love of basketball officiating and membership in the "International Association of Baseketball Officelas" (IAABO). Quickly, we became fast friends and he became my mentor in IAABO; wherein, we jointly contributed over the years to many valuable changes in the organization that have had profound and lasting affects.

As faith would have it, we both eventually became the President of IAABO at different times. We shared so many countless times together; espcially, at IAABO conventions and I will always value them as priceless.

The friendship gave me the opportunity to share life with his wonderful wife, Jackie. I knew from the first time I met Pete just how much he treasured her because of the respectfull manner that he always treated and spoke of her. It was rewarding in its own way.

I believe there will never be another member of our organization who will be able to wear the mantel of the friendship title I gave Pete years ago, "Mr. IAABO." I know there are many other members of IAABO who know exactly what I meant by the title and how Pete earned it and wore it well.

I will miss him dearly as the brother I never had and as a man of dignity with purpose.

The memories will live on.
