Grace C. Moynihan
lifelong Lowell resident; 84

LOWELL -- Grace C. (Clark) Moynihan, 84, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, after a long illness with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Daniel J. Moynihan who died in 1999.

A daughter of the late Francis J. and the late Grace (DeMange) Clark, she was born April 13, 1928, in Lowell, and educated in the Lowell Schools, graduating from Lowell High School, Class of 1945.

She made her home in the Highlands Section of the City for her entire life. Grace was deeply devoted to her Catholic Faith and was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Parish where she was a longtime member of the Blessed Virgin Society as well as the League of Catholic Women. She was also a longtime member of the former Middlesex Women's Club, the Seabrook Civic Association, and several other senior associations. She had worked for New England Telephone for a few years as an operator before working seasonally for the Internal Revenue Service.

Grace loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed the beach, especially Seabrook New Hampshire, where for the past forty years she spent summers at her home. She enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, reading, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Moynihan of Haverhill, Mary Lou Moynihan of Salisbury Beach, Maureen M. Moynihan of Lowell, and Attorney Daniel J. Moynihan and his wife, Michelle, of Stoneham; her grandchildren, Kayla L. Moynihan, Daniel E. Moynihan, and Andrew J. Moynihan all of Stoneham; her brothers and sisters-in-law Marguerite Patrick of South Yarmouth, Louise Kilmartin of Dracut, Robert and Eleanor Moynihan of Deerfield Beach, FL; and also her lifelong friend Virginia Fitzgerald of Lowell, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late George Clark.

AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS ST, LOWELL AT 9:30 A.M. BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY.
