Joan Rice Obituary

Joan G. Rice of Westford, owned paving company; 67 WESTFORD Joan G. (Bennett) Rice, 67, of Westford, formerly of Yarmouth, Maine, and Littleton, beloved wife of Richard Rice, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. She was born in Portland, Maine, June 16, 1940, a daughter of the late Howard Bennett and Marjorie (Ward) Bennett. She graduated from Yarmouth High School in Maine. Mrs. Rice was the co-owner of Rice Paving in Westford. In her leisure time, Joan enjoyed spending time with her family, and taking trips to Foxwoods. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mia Chandler of Lowell; two sons, Christopher Marcos of Stratham, N.H., and Jeremy Marcos of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, Kyle, Katherine, Kevin, David and Timothy Marcos; a son-in-law, James Chandler; two daughters-in-law, Joann Marcos and Kendra Marcos; five step-children, Debbie Pickard of Townsend, Sharon Smeriglio of Cos Cob, Conn., Pamela Rice of Brookline, N.H., Richard Rice, Jr. of Lowell, and Steven Rice of Westford. She was also the stepmother of the late Sandra (Rice) Corr. RICE Died Friday, July 20, 2007 in Worcester, Joan G. (Bennett) Rice, 67, of Westford, beloved wife of Richard Rice. Friends may call at the HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, MA, Monday, July 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Service at the HEALY FUNERAL HOME Tuesday at noon, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford. FUNERAL DIRECTOR J.A. I can remember the day I introduced you to Joanie at the "Bucket", it seems like yesterday. Joanie was and is a very special person who we loved dearly.
