Marie and Michael,
We were so sorry to learn of your father's passing. I always thought of him as the strong and silent type, a perfect complement to your sweet and gracious mother. I remember so many of the improvements he made on your log cabin house and when he finished the basement, that seemed to be the place you all hung out from then on. I met your Mom shortly after we moved to Westford from Illinois. It might have been at Roudenbush or perhaps the Westford Library. Wherever, your mom and I seemed to gravitate toward each other and there were many play dates and birthday parties shared between our families when you were all just little kids. Marie and our Elizabeth were the same age and Michael and our Edward were the same age, so, there were many similarities and good times had over those early years. We eventually moved to Groton and finally California, and, of course lost touch. I want you to know though, that I always considered both your parents to be wonderful, wonderful people. I know they will be missed by so many, but, I also know the way they raised you and what incredible people you must be now that you are adults. Our thoughts are with you, we find some peace in knowing that your parents are reunited in heaven. The Schramm/Sciaky family

As a board member of one of the properties that John oversaw, I cannot say enough about his skills in listening, his voice of reason and calm, and his absolutely respectful tone to everyone. There is a word in Yiddish that describes who John was, a real "mensch." I will miss him.

I only worked for John for a brief period but I must say I had an instant respect for the man and truly enjoyed working for him. He will be missed.

Dear John, Thanks for being the best brother you could have been! I still have fond childhood memories of us playing in the parlor with the Lionel train set and the electric cars. Also playing hockey in the hallway with rulers and a ball of tape. Remember building snow forts in the backyard and catching poison ivy on the way to the brook across the street? Remember letting me use your Duster 340 with my friends after I got my license? That was a great car! Although we were not physically close over our adult life, you were always my brother. May you rest in peace and I will always miss you until we join again. Love, Bob

I am a resident of Fuller Pond Village, one of the properties John managed. I worked with the Board and John for two years. John was a lovely man, a true gentleman, and an exceptional property manager. I am very saddened by his loss.

Dear Marie and Michael,

I don't know where to begin. I have been next door neighbors with your Mom and Dad for 26 years at least. They were such wonderful people and your Mom and I hit it off right away. I remember the piano recitals with my son Anthony, and you Marie, and actually still have video of it. Your parents had Tony and I over for dinner right when they moved in. They were the kindest people. My sadness at you losing Mom a few years ago was overwhelming, and now hearing of the passing of your Dad, I am just so saddened. John was such a great guy and neighbor. So very kind. My heart hurts for both of you Marie and Michael. God has a plan and sometimes it is very hard to understand. I will always remember John and Michael playing catch in the yard when mike played baseball. He was such a great Dad. I am very very sorry for your loss and very saddened that I will not see your Dad next door anymore. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and Marie, never hesitate to call me if there is anything I can do for you guys. God Bless you.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Alexopoulos/DeGennaro
