I was a student teacher with Mrs. Ross (7th grade English) at the Daley School in 1974. Being a traveler myself, I enjoyed talking with him in the teacher´s room about his travels in many exotic countries. He told me that he found India to be the most fascinating place he had visited at that time. He was a strict but very well liked Math teacher; especially suited to working with middle school students. My brother Mark had him for Math at the Daley and once respectfully pointed out a rare error Mr. Casper had made in solving a problem on the blackboard. Without any fuss, Mr. Casper checked his own work, corrected the error-and thanked Mark for being attentive enough to find it. He may have even done it on purpose just for that reason! That´s the kind of person and teacher he was. May this good man enjoy eternal peace forever.

To the Casper family, I had Mr Casper in the 7th grade (7-2) for math! He was strictly but fair! You knew the math you needed to matriculate into the eighth grade! Everyone always knew something was wrong when he took his fingernails and ran them up and down the blackboard... May his soul rest in heavenly peace.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Casper (Joe). He was my 8th grade homeroom and math teacher at the Daley School. He was an excellent math teacher and educator.
I have copies of the Keith Academy Class graduation photos and have attached his Keith Academy Class graduation photo.
My Dad ( Joe Regan Sr) was one of the first lay (Math and Latin) teachers at Keith Academy and had Joe Casper as a student.
I will keep Mr. Casper and the Family in my prayers.

Mr. Casper was a tough teacher, but I suppose you had to be dealing with 7th and 8th graders at their wildest age.
I am happy he had love, and a life well-lived full of travel and leisure.
May he rest in peace now with his dear companion Robert MacDonald who passed away on August 19, 2022.
