Lawrence Williamson Obituary

Dracut

Lawrence A. Williamson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, age 69, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital, on Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was the devoted husband of Gail (Egan) Williamson, with whom he enjoyed 47 years of marriage.

Best known as Larry, he was born in Lowell in 1952, and was the son of the late James and Mary (Morris) Williamson.

Larry graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute (today known as UMass Lowell), and also obtained a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University. Most recently he worked for Mott MacDonald as an Executive Vice President. Larry enjoyed his work, which helped many local communities and provided for his family.

Larry was kindhearted, selfless, and extremely generous. He always took care of all the small things so his family could best enjoy what they were doing. Larry loved sweets and could tell a good dad joke. In the summer he could be found walking Ogunquit Beach and the Marginal Way with Gail. Most of all, Larry cherished the time he spent with his family, especially playing with and reading to his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife Gail, Larry is survived by his two children, Sean Williamson of New York, NY, and Julie Williamson and her husband Joseph MacEachern of Essex Junction, VT; three grandchildren: Lucy Williamson, Max Williamson, and Amelia Sousa; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 29th from 5pm to 8pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) at www.vestibular.org or American Heart Association at www.heart.org.

Funeral Directors Paul A. Hardy, Jr. & Jennifer Hardy. For directions and online guestbook, visit DRACUTFUNERALHOME.COM and find us on Facebook.
