Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother
LOWELL
Loretta Mary (Flynn) LaBelle, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at D'Youville Senior Care Center, with members of her family at bedside. She was the wife of the late Joseph Paul LaBelle for sixty-one years before his death in 2016.
Loretta was born in Lowell on August 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Margaret L. (Carroll) Flynn. Loretta was the sister of Thomas, James, and John Flynn, and Genevieve McCubbin, all deceased. She was educated in St. Peter's grammar school and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1948.
In her earlier years, she was employed at Raytheon in Andover, MA for a short time before dedicating herself fulltime to her family and home life.
She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church, later the Sacred Heart Church, St. Michael's Church and most recently the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Lowell.
A member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Legion of Mary, over the years Loretta enjoyed traveling to Europe, spending time at their Maine summer home, as well as dining and dancing. She was an avid reader and a great cook. Loretta especially loved the holidays with her family.
Loretta is survived by her five children; Rev. Joseph T. LaBelle, O.M.I. of San Antonio, TX , Mary Margaret Neuenfeldt of Castle Rock, CO, Judith A. LaBelle of Groton, John G. LaBelle and his wife Muriel of Washington DC, and David P. LaBelle and his wife Amanda of Bristol, NH; her 10 grandchildren, Matthew Neuenfeldt, Christopher Neuenfeldt, Timothy Neuenfeldt, Mark Neuenfeldt, Nicholas Buzzotta, Casey Buzzotta, Meredith Buzzotta, Samuel Buzzotta , Joseph A. LaBelle, and Andrew LaBelle; nine great grandchildren; niece Eileen Kenny and her husband James, nephew Richard McCubbin and his wife Susan. She was also aunt of the late Karen McCubbin.
Loretta also leaves many dear friends.
Family and Friends may call at FAY MCCABE FUNERAL HOME 105 MOORE STRRET LOWELL, on FRIDAY from 4 until 8 PM.
Loretta's FUNERAL will begin on SATURDAY MORNING at 9 o'clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her FUNERAL MASS at 10 o'clock at THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 144 EAST MERRIMACK STREET, LOWELL. Burial will follow in ST. PATRICK'S CEMETERY, Lowell.
