He was born and raised in Guayambo, Puerto Rico, son of Antonia Marrero of Puerto Rico and the late Gumersindo Lozada. He received a bachelor's degree in education from Boston University.
For several years, Mr. Lozado was an English teacher at Lowell High School. He also taught English as a second language. He later attended the Lowell Academy for Hairstyling Institute. Before retiring, Mr. Lozada was the owner of Mr. Lou's Hair Salon on Merrimack Street in Lowell for more than 15 years.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Annette Santiago of Athol; a brother, Thomas Lozada, residing in Pennsylvania; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Myrna Lozada and Edwin Ruiz of Puerto Rico, Ana D. Lozada of Puerto Rico, Carmen A. Lozada and Julio Rentas of Athol, and Josefa Lozada of Winchendon; two grandchildren, Antonio Luis Stakley and Isabella Stakley, both of Athol; many nieces, nephews and cousins including, Armando Faria, Alex Faria, Ivan Faria, Javier Faria, Norman Storer, Tommy Lozada, Albert Valentine, Orlando Jiminez, Franco DelValle, Fred DelValle, Ibone DelValle, Myrna Ruiz, Ailed Jiminez, Nora Storer, Omar Ruiz, Maria Cintron, Jairo Lozada, Siul Lozada, Jessica Lozada, all of the Lowell area.
