She was born in Lowell on July 3, 1916, daughter of the late Alfred and Rose (Bernier) Bernier.
Prior to her retirement, she was the owner of the Appleton Beauty Salon in Lowell and worked for the Boston school system as a teacher of Cosmetology.
After her retirement, Mrs. Amodio moved to Florida, living in Punta Gorda until returning to Lowell.
Mrs. Amodio was a communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell and a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Margaret's.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard Dunlay of Tewksbury, a daughter, Barbara Hunter of Lowell; a stepson Joseph Amodio; a stepdaughter, Deborah Banon; six grandchildren, Kathleen Balas, Sharon Tabony, Richard Dunlay, Michael Dunlay, Robert Dunlay and Ronald McMaster; a sister, Irene Dery of Methuen; and five great-grandchildren.
