Loving husband; devoted father

WESTFORD -- Mark P. Himelfarb, 59, a longtime resident of Westford, entered into rest on August 17, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic accident while bicycling in Lincoln, MA. He was the beloved husband of Alisa (Berman) Himelfarb, with whom he would have celebrated 26 years of marriage in September.

Born in South Amboy, New Jersey, March 4, 1957, a son of the late Robert and Rae (Schwartz) Himelfarb. He received his early education in Pennsylvania, attended high school in Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono, with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, in 1979.

He was affiliated with iRobot Corporation in Bedford, MA, where he was employed as a Senior Electrical Engineer.

A man of deep faith, Mark was involved in many Jewish community activities and organizations throughout his life. He was a dedicated volunteer, known for his selfless acts of kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. He loved to hike, travel and bike with his cherished family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Shayna Himelfarb, a recent graduate of Westford Academy, and a son, Daniel Himelfarb, who attends Stoney Brook Middle School. Also a sister, Susan Murphy and her husband Frank, a niece, Robin Berberian, and a nephew, Frank Murphy, all of New Jersey.

HIMELFARB -- In Lincoln, MA, August 17, 2016. Mark P. Himelfarb, of Westford, aged 59 years. Beloved husband of Alisa (Berman) Himelfarb. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Shalom, 87 Richardson Road, North Chelmsford. Please omit flowers. Interment in Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland. Shiva will be observed at the Himelfarb family home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., with a service at 7:30 p.m., and on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., with a service at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
