THE VILLAGES, Florida -- Michael J. Murphy, 76, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013.
Beloved husband of Shirley Murphy of The Villages, Florida. Devoted father of Christopher Murphy and wife, Alla of Vass, North Carolina, Julie Driscoll and husband, Steve of Milton, Patricia Buonaiuto and husband, Steve of Wellesley, and Pamela Murphy-Walczak of Dracut; two step children, Bethany Yale and Jim Beamis; and nine grandchildren. Devoted brother of Joan Heavey and Patricia Bragdon, and the late Neil Muphy and Nancy Gagne. Survived by many cousins in Gardiner, Maine.
Mr. Murphy was born January 1, 1936 in Gardiner, Maine. He was a graduate of Northeastern University In Boston Massachusetts. A former Army officer, Mike served as an intelligence officer in Washington DC, and later as a NATO international staff officer working in Fontainebleau, France.
He worked as an editorial assistant for the Boston Globe Newspaper, and was a television producer for WBZ-TV of Boston, an NBC affiliate. Later, he owned and operated and advertising agency and film production company in the Lowell area.
MURPHY -- A memorial mass will be held for family and friends at St. William's Church in Tewksbury, Massachusetts on November 30th at 10:00 A.M.
