Modesta Ortiz-Baez Obituary

LOWELL -- Modesta Ortiz-Baez, 76, a resident of Lowell for 19 years, died Sunday, July 3, at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Manuel Ortiz, who died in 1972.

She was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, on April 20, 1929, daughter of the late Pablo Baez and Lucia Marquez. She received her early education in Puerto Rico.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Alma Luna and her husband Armando, Julia Ortiz, Jesusa Ortiz, Rosa M. Rivera and her husband Andres, all of Lowell; two sons, Manuel Ortiz, residing in Puerto Rico, and Angel L. Ortiz of Lowell. She also leaves her sisters and brothers as well as many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
