Patrick Slattery Obituary
Loving husband, father, son, brother; 44
TEWKSBURY -- Patrick J. Slattery, age 44, a resident of Tewksbury, died unexpectedly Friday, February 6, 2015 from injuries sustained in an accident. He was the beloved husband of Kerri N. (Mooney) Slattery, to whom he was married for 17 years.
He was born in Boston on June 29, 1970, and was a son of Mary Slattery of Chelmsford, MA and Michael Slattery of Derry, NH. He received his education in Chelmsford schools and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from UMASS Lowell and his master's degree in business administration from Bentley College in Waltham.
Patrick was the owner of Innovative Fabrication and Do Can Brewery, both in Lowell, and he coached Tewksbury Youth Soccer for many years.
He was a member of the UMASS Lowell Engineering Advisory Board for several years and a member of the New England CEO Network.
Patrick was a great supporter of the Lowell Sun Santa Fund and Lisa's Lung Cancer Awareness 5K Run/3K Walk.
He was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed cooking, going to Old Orchard Beach with his family, and spending time with his faithful companion Finn. He also enjoyed playing guitar with his band Intervention.
Patrick's children were the world to him. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with them. He spent countless hours on the soccer field with Gavin, he loved to play Xbox with him, and he loved helping Hannah with everything from homework to back walkovers.
The amount of people's lives that Patrick touched was immeasurable, with his generosity and kindness. His quick wit was unsurpassed; there was never anyone who was clever enough to counter it.
Establishing the Do Can Brewery was a lifelong dream he was able to fulfill. It was more than just the beer. He was creating an attitude of perseverance. His life's motto was "those who do, can".
In addition to his wife and parents, Patrick was the proud father of his two adoring children Gavin Joseph Slattery, a freshman at Lawrence Academy and Hannah Slattery, a 7th grade student at the Wynn School in Tewksbury; his sister, Kathleen and husband, Mark Matthews of Bronxville, NY; his mother-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Mooney of Westford; his sister-in-law, Kelly Breen and her husband, Mitch of West Townsend; his nieces and nephews, Casey, Bailey, Jessey, Jack, Joseph, and Patrick; and many lifelong friends.
He was also the brother of the late Michael C. Slattery, and the son-in-law of the late Richard "Dick" Mooney, who both died in 2014.
SLATTERY -- Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD, on Tuesday from 4 until 8 pm. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private. Dear Patrick, I cant believe that a year has passed since we lost you. You were such a joy to me and a light in everyone's life. You were the best husband, father, son and brother and friend to all. You were brilliant and funny and always had a positive attitude. I am sure that you and Michael will be watching the Super Bowl in Heaven. I miss you more than I can ever say and want you to know what a gift you were to me and still are, When my time comes, will you please ask them to let me in? The only thing that keeps me going is the thought that I will see you and Michael again and all the family that is there with you. Pray for us all. Rest in peace! I love you to the moon and back. As it comes to a year of your passing I still can't believe it. Like many have said you had so much more to left to share with this world. I was reading the UMass Lowell magazine and noticed Pat's name on the In Memoriam list. It took my breath away. As a fellow ChemE, I remember having classes with Pat, and always enjoyed his sense of humor. I'm so sorry to hear this, he was a great guy. My prayers are with his family.

I worked at Corning with pat in the late nineties early two thousands he was such a great guy he was my boss but I didn't consider him a boss he was so easy to get along with. I'm so sorry for your loss. We used to talk about music a lot. He will be missed.

I only met Pat once, briefly, but I have to say he definitely left a lasting mark! Such a great guy, I learned what an incredible heart he had in just a short conversation. Much condolences go out to his wife & family.
From the family at Ward Eight Lowell, we have been so lucky to have done work with him, and regret not having the opportunity to do further business with such a dedicated/passionate guy.

Dear Kerri and Family, Please accept our sincere sympathy on the death of Pat. I worked with him at BTU for several years and he was also our first recruit in the Dunstable Minute Men back in 1997. I was shocked by the tragic incident that took his life but knowing Pat I well understood how it could of happened, he was always the first to step forward … that's the type of individual he was. He will be missed by many.

Having just met Patrick fairly recently it was very obvious that he was a "genuine human being" he just was. It was extremely upsetting to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to his wife & children. This world will miss you greatly Pat!

I've worked with Pat over the past 10+ years in support of his business. Every time I would come visit him he and Tim would treat me like royalty. I've never met someone who would make me feel so welcome and go out of his way to make sure I was being taken care of.
We have lost a great business man and friend.
