HUDSON, NH - Robert H. 'Bob' Roper, 81, beloved husband to Rita M. (Almeida) Roper, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, after Sixty years of marriage.
A son of the late Arthur W. Roper and the late Esther M. (Laird) Roper, he was born October 29, 1936, in Lowell, and attended St. Michael's Grammar School and graduated from Keith Academy. As a child, he was right handed until he was stricken with Polio in his right arm and had to relearn all tasks as a left handed person. He then went on to excel as a Varsity pitcher for Keith Academy.
A lifelong member of Long Meadow Golf Club, he was an avid golfer. He also coached youth baseball for Callery Park for over twenty years. He retired after twenty eight years as District Sales Manager for CVS in the Boston area.
In addition to the love of his life, his wife, Rita, he is survived by his children, Robert F. Roper of Lowell, Stephen A. Roper of Fitchburg, Michael J. Roper of Leominster, Sharon M. (Roper) Desrosiers of Hudson, NH, and Tracy A. Rousseau of Townsend; his brother William Roper and his wife Marian of North Adams; his sisters-in-law, Carol Roper of Bradenton, FL, and Florence Crowell and brother in-law Donald Crowell of Hudson, NH; his fifteen grandchildren, Joshua Rousseau, Courtney Colcord, Lindsay Roper, Tiffanie Roper, David Desrosiers, Bryan Desrosiers, Michael Magee, Stephen Roper, Brittany Roper, Alexandra Roper, Brandon Hammond, Brianna Rousseau, Tyler Rousseau, Morgan Rousseau, and Ava Rousseau; his seven great grandchildren, Kiarha Roper, Amber Gauthier, Kaden Colcord, Aaliyah Colcord, Vienna Cotreau, Jenna Magee, and Adilynn Dodge-Rousseau; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Ronald Roper who passed away on February 10th 2018 and the brother of the late Kenneth Roper who passed away in 1985, and grandfather of the late Jennifer Roper who passed away in 2014.
The family would also like to thank his dialysis nurse, Elaine Cerullo, for her kindness, care, and dedication over the past three years.

Dear Aunty 'Riri' and my dear cousins, so sorry for the loss of our uncle Bob. Even though we were not as close as adults as we were when we were young, this loss still hurts and he will be greatly missed. He always had a smile and a big bear hug every time we saw him. He is resting now and smiling down on all of you with pride and happiness that you will be comforting each other during this difficult time. Love, 'Kimmie' Roper, beloved neice.

To my dear cousins and aunty Rita, I am so very sorry for the loss of our dear uncle Bob. He was a fun uncle and we all hold dear many childhood memories we had together as kids and will always hold those memories close to my heart. Please hold some comfort in the fact that he is at rest now and joined in eternity with his brothers, Ron and Kenny as well as their mom and dad and cousin Ronnie. May they all rest in heaven together and be forever without pain. Love you all.

My dear Rita and all my nieces and nephews. My heartfelt sympathy upon Bob's very sad demise. On one hand, my heart is very heavy for your loss, but on the other hand my heart is lightened to know that big brother and little brother are joining Ken and Ron jr. in a family embrace in heaven and especially embraced by the arms of Jesus. To my uncle Bob..may you have the eternal rest you so deserve, and you can rest and your family can be comforted in the fact that you are at rest now. You have raised an incredible family and you and Rita should be very proud of each one of them. I have many fond thoughts of childhood memories and times we all spent together. First met Bob at the video store in Couples Square then later played many a round of golf while a member of Long Meadow. We had a lot of conversations and shared quite a few laughs. Rope as I always called him was a great guy. I moved and life got in the way and when I went back to play a round he had stopped playing. Sorry I lost touch at that point. May he rest in peace.

So sorry Roper Family. Fond memories of our old day's at Callery. He alway's had a smile and words of encouragement. Years could go by without seeing him but when we would bump into one another, It was as if we were "Up the park". He will be missed!!
