Robert Ware Obituary

Tewksbury, MA & Barefoot Bay, FL

Born on August 23rd, 1938

Robert Ware peacefully passed away on Saturday Mar 19, 2022 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne Florida after a battle with multiple health issues.

He was the son of the late John and Irene (Loft) Ware of Chelsea Ma. and is survived by his two brothers Gene Ware of Reading, MA and James Ware of Boston, MA. Bob is also survived by his loving wife Corinne (Fitzgerald) Ware and would have celebrated their 56 years of marriage on Apr 16, 2022.

Bob grew up in Chelsea Ma, where he graduated from Chelsea High in 1956 where he still holds record for his pitching accolades and is in the Hall of Fame as a CHS Red Devil. He then followed his baseball career to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro NH, Suffolk University and Salem State College where he was a very successful baseball pitcher. Bob continued to play semi-pro baseball and was offered a tryout with the New York Yankees.

Bob was a lifelong educator and baseball coach where he began his teaching career at Chelsea High School followed by twenty plus years at Malden High School. He was also the varsity baseball coach at Malden and Tewksbury where he received Coach of the Year accomplishments on several occasions.

He was the proud father of his three children, Kathleen J. O'Donoghue of Billerica MA, Robert P. Ware and his wife Christine Ware of Littleton, MA and Shannon M. Whitney of Tewksbury, MA.

His true love and joy over the last twenty plus years were his six grandchildren.

"Poppy" is survived and truly loved by Alyssa, Jessica and Erika Ware, Sean O'Donoghue and Devon & Ty Whitney. Bob absolutely adored his grandchildren and cherished his time spent with them. His family made Bob so proud and brought so much joy to him and his wife Corinne.

Bob was a very passionate man. If there was a baseball or softball game in the area, Bob Ware would be the guy routing for everyone as well as providing them specific instructions on how to improve their game. He loved sports of any kind and would attend the Noreaster Football games, UMass Lowell Baseball games and the Tewksbury Men's softball games where he never left home without a cooler full of cold beverages so he could spend time with players and friends postgame. He was a caring man that proudly touched so many lives and will truly be missed by so many.

Calling hours will be 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday Mar 31, 2022 at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the church.

I am just learning about Bob's passing. My wife and I had just visited with Bob and Corrine in Sebastian FL a few years ago. I had been trying to make contact to set up another visit. He was always so friendly. He was a big fan of the Lowell Noreaster football team. After I stopped playing I would announce his birthday every year at the game. He always enjoyed that. I'm very sad to hear this news and think of him often. I'll have to find some old pics to share.
