Todd Fawcett Obituary
Todd R. Fawcett passed away on December 9, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Lowell, MA February 11, 1953, son of Katherine (Walsh) and Francis G Fawcett.
A lifelong son of Lowell, he attended Lowell High School where he was a starting free-safety on the 1971 Undefeated Red Raider Football Team. Tough as nails, he also wrestled for legendary coach, George Bossi. He later graduated from Cardinal Christian Academy before attending and graduating from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Todd had a passion for the outdoors - enjoying the ocean and fishing, the mountains, and gardening. He worked for many years as a professional landscaper for Machado & Son Landscaping and Paving.
He is survived by his son Keith Fawcett, his wife Joanna, and his two grandchildren Jessica and Alexandra, of Falls Church, Virginia; and his daughter Stephanie Reynolds of Denver, Colorado.
He is pre-deceased by his brother Robert "Bob" Fawcett, who he's currently out fishing with.
He also leaves: sister-in-law Priscilla Fawcett of Windham NH; his brother David &his wife Dolores Fawcett of Lighthouse Point, FL; his brother Bryan "Buzza" Fawcett and his wife Betsy of Lowell, MA; his nephews Michael Fawcett & his wife Lesley, and their children Grace and Thomas of Amesbury, MA; and Ryan Fawcett & his wife Kristin, and their children Lily-Anne Heywood and Grayson Loehning of Derry, NH; and his many friends across the city of Lowell and beyond.

On Thursday, December 15, 2022 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 11 a.m.-1p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, 978-458-6816. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1p.m. following the calling hours. All are welcome to join the family in a celebration of Todd's life from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Mt. Condolensces to Todds family and friends. I've known Todd since our days at the Daley School. It was always a good day to see Todd and reminisce about our younger days playing sandlot ball at the Lincoln School. Great memories of years past. He will be missed.

In 1971 I was fortunate to be able to come back to Lowell for the Thanksgiving break.... The LHS Football Team had one more game to play that would cap off an undefeated season....we all headed to Lawrence early because we knew the crowd would be huge. The Lancers had a good team that year so it would be a test. As it always seems to be on that morning the weather was very cold and windy. I knew so many players on the Raiders squad , I could not wait to watch them all play...From the very beginning Lowell shut them down...they could not move the ball on the ground....they tried to put the ball in the air but this is who LHS had in the Secondary.......Corners were Dick Sarault and Jim Gill....both great cover guys and vicious tacklers...Todd was in the middle at Free Safety....he had a knack for where the ball would end up and made play after play...he actually had to cover the entire field ..deep.....They all played a solid game and finished with an undefeated record. Todd was everywhere ,he played GREAT ......Best to all FAMILY MEMBERS

I first met Todd when he worked for Jack Hassett at Mt P. as a grounds keeper. Todd was very laid back and "cool". A tough guy, but very sociable. For those who knew Todd he will be missed. My deepest condolences to David, Bryan and the entire Fawcett family. Right now Todd is trying to tell my good friend Haddick how to catch the "BIG ONE"
