Charles W. Welnetz, 75, of Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, in his home.
Mass of Christian will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Aug. 26, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 400 W. 10th St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Rev. David Kime officiating. Full military honors will follow at the church with private burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
He was born Dec. 7, 1949, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late William J. and Catherine (Miller) Welnetz.
Charles retired after 15 years as a graphic artist from J. Walter Thompson Company, Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church where he served as an usher and for many years volunteered with the local nursing home facilities within Michigan City.
Charles also was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Air Force.

Oh Chuck. How it was so hard to realize you were finally taken into god arms today at your funeral. You were family. You brought my grandpa communion every Sunday, you let him talk your ear off you had a deep down conversation with him. You helped fix the little things around my house. You will forever be missed.
