Diane Kay Sennett, 81, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on May 15, 2025.
Diane was born on Sept. 20, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Emory and Vera (Nash) Hippensteel.
On Nov. 28, 1969, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married James L. Sennett who preceded her in death on March 7, 2021. Surviving are her beloved son, Kristopher (Tami) Sennett of Fort Wayne and three grandchildren, Carlie, Kelsey and Keaton Sennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Dennis J. Hippensteel; and sister-in-law, Barbara Sennett.
Diane retired after 34 years of teaching in the Michigan City Area School System. She was a member of First Church of God in La Porte. Diane's favorite past times included cross-country skiing, horses, scrapbooking, reading, traveling to Mackinac Island with Jim and spending time with her amazing life-long friends. She loved volunteering at Reins of Life and earned volunteer of the year for all her time and effort. Diane's friends and family looked forward to her homemade cards for special occasions and just because. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Dale Knouse officiating.
Visitation will take place two hours prior from 2 to 4 p.m. A private burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City.

My heart felt condolences to the family. Diane was a wonderful person and neighbor. I remember helping her with jigsaw puzzles and helping her with Jim.
