Earl W. McGinnis, 84, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at 9:20 a.m. in his home.
Graveside services will be conducted in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks, Michigan, and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St. Michigan City, Indiana.
He was born July 29, 1937, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Alice (Pieffer) McGinnis. He was married to Mary Mason, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 13, 1986, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Carol Handtke Wolfe, who survives Michigan City, Indiana.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Losiniecki of Michigan City, Indiana, and Terri (Scott) Beans of Kingsbury, Indiana; son, Christopher Wolfe of Michigan City, Indiana; four grandchildren, Shannon (Kar) Nallenweg of New Carlisle, Indiana, Nicole (Roberto Morales) Losiniecki of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Brandon Losiniecki of Michigan City, Indiana, and Jason Fair of North Liberty, Indiana; along with 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry McGinnis of New Buffalo, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Ryan Losiniecki; along with four brothers, Joseph McGinnis Jr., Jack McGinnis, Robert McGinnis and Charles McGinnis; and a sister, Edna Poor.
Earl had previously worked at Joy Manufacturing for 27 years, and then retired from the Indiana State Prison as a supervisor in the garment shop department. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
