Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Garry Paeth passed away on Feb. 14, 2024, at the age of 66 years.
He was born on April 5, 1957, in Evergreen Park, the son of Orville and Eleanor (Drexel) Paeth. He graduated from Bloom High School in 1975 and went to work as a police officer, a volunteer firefighter and for emergency medical services.
Garry's passion for law enforcement and breaking news kept his home filled with ambient noise from the scanner and the television. He spent countless hours dedicated to his family, reading books and watching sports. He was patient, kind and had a way to smile in any situation. Above all, his heart of gold was infectious.
Garry is survived by his cherished family. Stacey Walsh; his children, Justin Ward (Rachel), Robert Ward (Nikki) and Amanda Ward; and his brother, Glenn (Christina) Paeth.
He was an exceptional father figure to his granddaughter, Rowyn; and an incredibly loving grandfather to Maliyah, Brynlee, Eli, Evelyn, Colin, Clarabelle, Charlotte and Adeline.
He is reunited with his father, Orville Paeth; his mother, Eleanor Paeth; and his sister, Gail Romascan.
We will always be reminded of the impact Garry had on those around him. Though he may no longer be with us, his memory will live on through the way in which he touched our lives. May we find comfort in knowing that his heart of gold will never truly be gone as long as we keep it alive in our own hearts. Garry was truly admired by all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
The family will celebrate his birthday, his life, in the beginning of April. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dunes Hospice.
Professional arrangements are entrusted to White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton, Indiana. Please share your wonderful memories with the family at: www. whitelovefuneralhome.com.
