Gerald Dean "Jerry" Hill

Gerald "Jerry" Dean Hill, 82, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on Sept. 25, 2023, at Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospital.

Jerry was born on April 27, 1941, in La Porte, Indiana, to Harvey and Helen (Madison) Hill.

On Aug. 5, 1961, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Marsha A. Crowe, who preceded him in death on March 13, 2001.

Surviving Gerald are his three children, Melissa (Dan) Feare of Florida, Melissa (Chuck) Goodman of La Porte and Mark Crowe of La Porte; three grandchildren, Alexis (Christian) Muñoz, Thomas Hill and Seth (Brie) Wilhelm; three great-grandchildren, Theo, Hudson and Juliana Wilhelm; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Crowe, Sue (Roy) Runion, Cheryl (Jerry) Yaw and Kathy Crowe; three nephews, Jason (Lisa) Runion, Derek (Amanda) Runion and Jeremy Crowe; two great-nieces, Haley Runion and Ramee Crowe; and two great-nephews, Zach and Lucas Runion.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brothers, Harvey Hill, Jr. and Timothy Hill; mother-in-law, Charlotte Gangwer; father-in-law, Perry Crowe Sr.; nephew, Shawn Vick; and brothers-in-law, Perry Crowe Jr. and Jerry Crowe.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Army Reserves, serving in the Vietnam War. On Aug. 3, 1972, he was honorably discharged.

He lived most of his life in La Porte until November 2015, when he moved to Florida. Prior to moving, Jerry worked at Aero Metals for 38 years. While in Florida, Jerry was able to enjoy more time with his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed his retirement in Florida, enjoying the warmer weather and beautiful scenery.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with his beloved dogs, Lucky and Bella. He also enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles and doing yard work.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
