Cyril D. "Don" Mailander Jr., 80, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at 9:28 a.m. in Aperion Care – Michigan City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Deacon Mike Green officiating. Private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
He was born April 5, 1945, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Cyril and Lucille (Dant) Mailander Sr. On July 26, 1980, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Vicki Vinson, who survives in Michigan City, Indiana.
Also surviving are his son, Eric (Bre) Mailander of Michigan City, Indiana; nephew, Blake Ratzell of Michigan City, Indiana; and his sister, Denise Nowfel of Michigan City, Indiana.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Mailander.
Don retired as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana, and a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. Don enjoyed watching sports, reading and yard work.
