Mary Molnar Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary, who left us unexpectedly on Jan. 24 at the age of 69.

Mary was a cherished parent, spouse and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her with her love, kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humor.

Born on Sept. 30, 1956, Mary was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She possessed a beautiful soul and was a devoted mother, as well as the best grandmother and great-grandmother any child could hope for. Mary enjoyed a successful career as a registered nurse, excelling in both clinical practice and leadership roles, including managing programs such as American Nursing Care, Hospice and PACE.

Mary was an avid reader, often finishing a new novel each week and eagerly sharing her favorite books with others. She also loved staying active – most recently through cycling, and earlier in life through running. She completed several marathons and participated in numerous running and cycling events over the years. When Mary met her husband, Joe, she introduced him to running. On one of their first runs together, Joe became tired after three or four miles and suggested they rest. Mary smiled and replied, "Never let a woman run you into the ground," before surging ahead. Leading from the front was always her way.

Mary and Joe shared 35 wonderful years together, spending their time devoted to their children and enjoying activities such as cycling, running and kayaking. Mary was also fully dedicated to Eric's Promise, supporting those in need in memory of her son Eric, who passed away in 2002.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Delcie Sosinski; her father, Joseph Sosinski; and her son, Eric Henry.

Mary had a beautiful, blended family and considered all the children to be her own. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Molnar of South Bend; her children, TJ Henry of Granger, Melissa Schroder of South Bend, and Regina Emberton, Nicholas Molnar, Alexandra Remble and Victoria Molnar, all of South Bend; her siblings, Kathy Mikulski (Michael, deceased) of Michigan City, Tom Sosinski (Trisha, deceased) of La Porte, Loran Sosinski (Sherry) of La Porte, Joe A. Sosinski (Jennifer) of Tennessee, and Michael Sosinski (Christine) of Ohio; as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service or viewing. She was full of life and wished to be remembered that way. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County in honor of Mary's legacy of compassion and generosity.

May she remain forever in our hearts.
