Joann H. Kelly, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, at her home. She was born in La Porte County, Indiana, to Emery J. and Catherine E. (Palmer) Wozniak.
On Feb. 14, 1953, at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, Indiana, by Reverend Leonard Cross, she married Matthew T. Kelly, who preceded her in death Nov. 3, 2018.
After graduating from Westville High School, Joann was employed with Allis Chalmers, Westville Elementary School and T. Foster Martin. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family, painting, gardening and reading.
Joann is survived by three daughters, Janet (Jim) Zotti, Carol (Thomas) Cummings and Judith (Dr. Stephen) Burns; one son, Dr. Neil (Dr. Betsy) Kelly; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Celeste C. (Michael) Casey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew; her parents; a grandson, Chris Cummings; and a brother, Ralph J. Wozniak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 Bach Street in La Porte. Reverend Nate Edquist will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, 4-H, or Gibault Child Services.
