Joann J. Stanly, 89, of La Porte passed away peacefully at 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Northwest Health-Porter.
She was born on Sept. 21, 1935, in Michigan City to Arthur and Lola (Lyon) LaBorn.
On May 25, 1956, in the Presbyterian Church in Michigan City, Joan married her high school sweetheart, Ray Stanley, who preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Connie Stanley; one son, Scott (Cheryl) Stanley; two granddaughters, Kylie (Greg) Larson and Kristin (Alex) Berce; and great-grandchildren, Neil Larson, Claire Larson, Owen Berce and Lewis Berce.
She was also preceded by her beloved sisters, Ann McKee, Norma Schultz, Ellen Benca and Grace Gruenberg; beloved brothers, Harvey LaBorn and George LaBorn; as well as all of her pets through her life that she loved so much.
At Joann's request, there will be no service. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd, La Porte, 219-362-3100, is caring for the arrangements.
