Katelyn Marie Kelly, 34, of La Porte passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born Feb. 23, 1990, in Naperville, Illinois, to Susan and David Kelly.
Katelyn worked as a bartender and was a talented mixologist. She was athletic and enjoyed playing volleyball, the beach, snowboarding, gardening and going to concerts. Katelyn was a dedicated Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan. She would lovingly take her father and mother to a Cubs game for each of their birthdays to celebrate their special day. Katelyn loved life and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her parents, Susan and David Kelly; sister, Marisa Kelly; grandmother, Caron Karner; boyfriend, Cameron Peterson; godparents, Sharon Fredrickson and David Seastrom; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and three special dogs in her life that she adored, Helly, Murphy and Cleveland.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, 219-362-3100. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private at a later date.
