Leonard Foldenauer Obituary

Leonard P. Foldenauer, 81, of Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at 8:45 a.m. in Residences at Coffee Creek, Chesterton, Indiana.

Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, 153 Tilden Ave., Michigan City, Indiana, with Chaplain Allen Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.

He was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Leonard M. and Mary (Fogarty) Foldenauer.

Surviving are two daughters, Candice (Stacy) Johnson of Georgia, and Tina (Shawn Graham) Spencer of Columbus, Ohio; four sons, Matthew (Tammy) Foldenauer of North Carolina, Jeff (Carolyn) Foldenauer of California, Michael Foldenauer of Oklahoma and Robert Foldenauer of Oklahoma; sister, Donna (Tim) Allen of Trail Creek, Indiana; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Foldenauer.

Leonard retired as a chief master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force and was also an ordained Baptist minister. He enjoyed golfing, painting and traveling. Leonard was stationed in or visited England, Germany, Turkey, Viet Nam, Thailand, Greece, Ireland, St. Martin and Mexico.
