Mary I. Losiniecki, 96, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 6 a.m. in Aperion Care-Arbors, Michigan City, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. April 21, 2021, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1505 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Private burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. There will be no visitation hours, arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Westville, Indiana, to the late Thomas and Magdalena (Pilarski) Levendowski. On March 2, 1946, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Edward J. "Washer" Losiniecki, who preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1998.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen D. (Sidney) Barone of Mesa, Arizona, Bernadette L. (James) Krueger and LouAnn (Andrew) Johnson, both of Michigan City, Indiana; son, Richard T. (Kathy) Losiniecki of Brandon, Florida; sixteen grandchildren, Jeff (Diane) Barone, Gina (David) Vecera, Mike (Fiancée, Maria) Barone, Jill (Vikas) Khokhar, Thomas (Jamie) Tarpley, Todd (Christine) Tarpley, Tyler (Sarah) Tarpley, Lisa (Brian) Smithmeyer, Timothy (Megan) Krueger, Marc (Erin) Krueger, Ryan (Anna Rauh) Krueger, Amanda Losiniecki, Ashley (Justin) May, Casey Losiniecki, Jessica Romine and Dylan (Abby) Kelly; 37 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Thomas (Karen) Tarpley. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward L. "EG" Losiniecki; her daughter, Carol A. Tarpley; six sisters, Viola Orpik, Martha Boyan, Virginia Owczarski, Lucille Pizarek, Agnes Wozniak and Dorothy Krusinski; along with four brothers, Anthony, Eugene, Alvin and David Levendowski.
Mary was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana. She was strong, hardworking, and was a bona fide "Rosie the Riveter," having worked heating rivets at Pullman Standard Manufacturing Company during World War II. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was always there for her family. She will be dearly missed.
