Michael Calvert Pease, 69, of Trail Creek passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at Franciscan Health Michigan City.
Mike's wishes were to have no viewing or services.
The Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mike was born April 21, 1955, in Niles, Michigan, to John and Barbara (Skinner) Pease.
On Jan. 19, 1974, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, he married his high school sweetheart, Robin Morse Pease, who is surviving in Trail Creek. Robin and Mike were lucky enough to have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January of 2024.
Also surviving is one son, Matthew (Kristine) Pease; two grandsons, Adrian and Drew; two brothers, Randy (Holly) Pease and Tim Pease; one brother in law, Terry (Diane) Morse; and many loving other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara.
Mike retired from Bethlehem Steel in 2006 after 28 years of service working in the blast furnace.
Mike was a director of the Summer Festival Committee for many years and was also the local chairman for the Drum and Bugle Corps shows in Michigan City from 1998 to 2010. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 6787, Michigan City High School Football Parents, and was a recipient in 2009 of the Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds Award.
Mike was a 1973 graduate of Rogers High School and marched for two seasons with the Maple City Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps of La Porte. He was also a 19 year lung cancer survivor.
He had a great time meeting and working with others who shared his passion for drum corps. Mike and Robin had so much fun going to their son Matt's football and baseball games, traveling, camping, going to drum corps shows and high school basketball games.
Mike was crazy about his grandsons Adrian and Drew and loved being with them and watching them grow.
Thank you to everyone who cared for him at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Regency Hospital in Portage and St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Michiana Humane Society or American Lung Association.

I remember when I was around 4 years old, I lived down the street from Mike and was friends with Matt. He built us the coolest igloo in his back yard. I was always sneaking down to their backyard lol Love and Light to You and your family...
