Sharon Mae Haas, 82, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 1:55 a.m. in Life Care Center of Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 10th and Buffalo streets, Michigan City, Indiana, with Rev. Walter Rakoszy officiating. Private family burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Friday from 10:15 to 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born Oct. 9, 1941, in Chesterton, Indiana, to the late Roy and Anjanette (Povlock) White. On Oct. 31, 1964, she married Paul David Haas, who preceded in death on March 16, 2023.
Surviving are daughter, Michelle Haas-Milligan, along with two sons, Kurt Haas and David (Angelique "Angie") Haas, all of Michigan City, Indiana; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Haas Milligan of Michigan City, Indiana; and sister, Kathleen (Robert) Shedd of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
She retired after many years as department manager for Sears Roebuck & Co., Michigan City, Indiana. Sharon was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana. She also was a volunteer coach for cheerleading, girls softball and volleyball for the Catholic Youth Organization. She enjoyed her family trips to Disney World and Cruises, but her pride and joy was her granddaughter Kaitlyn.
