So grateful for Dr. Nasr. He worked miracles with my mental problems several years ago. He was so kind, caring, and professional. And had so much knowledge and experience especially with choosing the right medication combinations. I am still alive years later thanks to him. So sorry for your loss.

We got to know Suhayl when his daughter Carla married our son Levi. It was wonderful to have him as part of our extended family. His family and work were everything to him. He will be greatly missed.

I met Suhayl Nasr during my practicum year at the Counseling Center at Notre Dame in 1987--his first year consulting there. I feel so blessed to have learned from him over these many years as he supported me and my clients in their healing journeys, with compassion and incredible skill. I used to call him a modern-day alchemist because he was able to listen deeply to patients and offer a combination of medications to help those no one else had been able to help. He graciously accepted all the patients I sent his way, and made himself available to discuss difficult cases with me. He was a deeply committed and caring individual with a sweet smile and a sparkle in his eye. His passing leaves a huge hole in this world.

Dr. Nasr, was one of a kind. He helped me in my deep depression, and brought me back to the real world.
When my daughter was murdered in1994, he was my rock that showed so much compassion.
We have lost a true saint.

I was a long term patient of Doctor Nasr. If not for his professional intervention, his kindness and empathy. I am sure I would not be here today. Rest in peace Doctor Nasr. It was an honor to have known you.

I knew Dr. Nasr from my work as a weekend nurse years ago at the old Kingwood Hospital (then a psychiatric facility). Weekends were very long for the patients with no activities planned and no doctors visiting, except Dr. Nasr! He came and made rounds faithfully every Saturday and Sunday. The patients (and the staff) were so appreciative!!
My best memory of Dr. Nasr however was the work he did with us at the Open Door Health Center. Once a month (on his "afternoon off") Dr. Nasr would come to the clinic and spent many hours seeing Open Door patients that were struggling with mental health issues. No matter how many people were in the waiting room, he spent thoughtful time with each of them. His patience, commitment and competence always amazed me. Special thanks to Dr. Nasr's family for sharing him with us, even on weekends and days off! I know he made the lives of many folks in Michigan City a better.
