Debbie Eaton Obituary

Debbie Kay Eaton

Eaton Rapids

Passed away on the morning of August 19th, 2017 after an exceptionally long hospitalization at the age of 60.  Born September 8, 1956 to Harold C. and Phyliss J. Eaton in Lansing, Michigan.  Debbie worked for the State of Michigan for over 41 years where she convinced her coworkers to call her "The Goddess" and by all reports did an excellent job in Human Resources for the Correction Department.  As one of the biggest hearts in her family, she will be missed. Debbie was especially close to her cousin, Gayle DenHartigh, with enough love left over to dote on her nephew's 4 children- Austin, Sienna, Brennan and Carson Eaton, whom she insisted that they refer to her as "Favorite Aunt Deb".  Debbie had so many interests and hobbies during her life - as her over-crowded craft room will attest.  She was also big into "selfie" pictures well before digital phones and cameras were around.

She was preceded in death by her father and is survived by her mother; brother, Terry (Janie) Eaton; nephew, Mark (Laurie) Eaton and too many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends to list them all.

A memorial luncheon/wake will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the First Congregational Church's Fellowship Hall 300 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids.  Bring your stories to share.  To share memories and condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com

Debbie was one of the strongest personalities that I have ever know. When Debbie walked into a room you knew it was going to be fun and interesting. Her tough exterior could never hide a heart of love and compassion. We are all fortunate to have known her and the inspiration that she emitted. She's unforgettable! Debbie will be greatly missed.

To one of my oldest and dearest friends. It's been a very long time since we talked, but you hold a very special place in my heart. For many years we were inseparable, the 2 Debs, childhood friends. You will forever live in my heart. God bless Phyilis, Terry and all those who loved Debbie.
