Gordon Dds Obituary
Mason - Gordon N. Schafer, DDS, age 84 of Mason passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at McLaren Greater Lansing, Greenlawn Campus. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February, 22, 2020 at University Lutheran Church, 1020 S. Harrison Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823. The Rev. Gary A. Bunge will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Dr. Schafer's name to University Lutheran Church.
The family is being served by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Laingsburg Chapel where online condolences may be shared with the family at www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com.

Dr. Schafer was our family dentist for years starting in mid 1960s, for me from age 10 until he and Marilyn retired. I have many fond memories of them both. Gordon loved his patients and developed personal relationships with them. My parents still received Christmas cards from Gordon and Marilyn until they both passed a few years ago. Dr. Schafer was one in a million. Every time I visit the office and sit on the brown leather couch and look around.....I have a memory and smile.

Doc Schafer was my dentist for years. We were birthday buddies too. When he retired, I was sad to see him leave as my dentist. He was always fast and did such a great job. He will be missed.
