Helen Lucille Albin

Helen Lucille Albin Charlotte Helen Lucille Albin, 89, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Mrs. Albin was born September 13, 1920 in Charlotte, Michigan the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Hokanson) Zeis. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Val) Liepins; grandchildren, Valorie (Roger) Hunnicutt , Nicole (Tony) Williams, Mark (Amy) and David (Kasi); great grandchildren; Kaiden, Joshua and Mariah, Brittany, Taylor, Jacob, Jordan, Garrett and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale in 1992 whom she married in 1940. Helen graduated from Charlotte High School, went on to Lansing Business College and then worked first as an apprentice and then as a Photographer at Michigan Theater Arcade for Versluis Studio in the 1940's. She took great pride in organizing and keeping up with classmates, and fellow alumni of CHS; reminding them of upcoming Class reunions, and how important it was to keep up with friends. She led a very active life, drove a school bus for Potterville Public Schools, took part in women's clubs, theatrical groups, Eastern Star Chapter's of Charlotte and Potterville, Women's Club Choir, and the Potterville United Methodist Church. She and Dale worked together in their business for 50 years at Albin's Honda. Helen's gardening was the envy of all who saw it, sharing her flowers and vegetables. She was a gracious hostess, and made delicate petifores and cookies for guests. She loved to make people happy. She as a caregiver for her husband, Dale; sister, Dorothy; Aunt Ora and her mother, Clara Zeis. She had a terrific zest for life, took in orphan animals and found new homes for them; traveling to distant lands, and many adventures. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Pray Funeral Home with Reverend Karen Wheat officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2009 from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital or the Eaton Community Hospice.
