Jean L. Rork

Jean L. Rork East Lansing Age 64, died November 6, 2008. Jean was born August 14, 1944 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of James William and Ethel Louis (Stuhlman) Court. Jean graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and then attended Kansas State University where where she met her husband, Ed, of 42 years. From this union they were blessed with two sons, James and John. Jean enjoyed meeting people, playing cards, knitting, reading and a host of other things to pass her time. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life and she will be missed by them. During her working life Jean was the co-owner and secretary of Carriage Hills Marathon Inc., which is still operated by her family. She also was a board member of the Everett Farms home owners association and enjoyed working with her neighbors. After Jean became ill she kept a positive attitude by making the best of a bad situation and sharing her life with the nurses at Ingham Medical 6 South. Jean is survived by her husband, Edward L. Rork; 2 sons, James Rork and John Rork; special daughter-in-law, Diane; 2 grandchildren, Heather and Tyler; brother, Robert Court; sister-in-law, Dana Covey; and brother-in-law, Dennis Rork. Jean was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing Chapel.
