Jeanne Barker Obituary

Jeanne "Sam" Barker

Lansing

Passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at age 87.  Born November 17, 1929 to Clarence and Louella Mae (Isaacson) Carlson in Amherst Junction, Wisconsin.  Jeanne worked as a secretary for Senate Majority Leader Sen. Fitzgerald.  For a period of time she was an Honorary Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Lansing.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and going to the casino to play craps and blackjack.  Jeanne loved to travel visiting such places as Hawaii, Greece, and the Bahamas.  Most of all she loved her family and friends and spending time with people.  She would give the blouse off of her back if you needed it.  Jeanne will be dearly missed by all who remember her.  Preceding her in death were two husbands, Franklyn Armbruster, Wayne Helgerson; sister, Laraine and son, Paul.

Surviving are her son, Daniel (Linda) Armbruster; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and too many friends to name.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5301 N. Michigan Rd. Dimondale, MI 48821.  To share memories and condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com

Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later, you've been joined by Linda now. Please watch over her for me until I get there. I love you both so much and it's been more difficult than I thought since Linda passed. Keep each other company and be there for each other too. I miss my women. I feel so very alone now. But Bonnie and Duane, plus Eric and Setiva, have been very helpful. I still don't want to do anything. I will, but it's harder than I thought it would be.

I love you, mom and Linda. I'll see you again.

Five years hasn't diminished my sadness, only tempered it. The pain you went through at the end still haunts me. I love and miss you mom. See you in a few.

Dan and Linda, Chuck and I are very sorry for the loss of your Mom who will always be Sam to us. I am sure she is in heaven now, having a cocktail, finally joined with your dad and brother, and looking out for you now once again. She had a good life and you should get a lot of happiness from knowing that.

My father's name is Robert Franklyn Armbruster. Sorry for the mistake. Goodbye, and all my love, Mom. I'll miss you forever. My memories will only be the good ones. That way, I'll never run out of them. It's hard right now looking at pictures, but they will be my solace in the times to come.I love you Mom
