Grand Ledge
Formerly of Beulah and Muskegon, MI, age 94, passed away May 27, 2016. Melva was born to Charles and Alice (Boersema) Lupher on June 13, 1921.
She is survived by her children, James (Gina) Kuerthof Seneca, SC and Lynda (Geoffrey) Buitendorp of Grand Ledge, MI; grandchildren, Shane (Brittany) Kuerth, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Hoffman, Erin (Husband: Paul Wozniak) Buitendorp, twins, Shawn and Claire Buitendorp, and Kelly (Kelvin) Jenkins; 4 great grandchildren, Bradley, Ethan, Easton and Skylar; and sister-in-law Helen Norton. Melva is preceded in death by her husband, Carl J., daughter-in-law Joan, brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Harold, Marjorie Derflinger, sisters, Barbara (Lawrence) Ames and Mary (Durwood) Holmes.
Graveside services will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Empire, MI. With great gratitude to the staff of Heartland Hospice, especially to Sue, Nick, Annette, Jesse and the Rev. Steve Ezop. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland any local V.F.W. in memory of Melva. Arrangements by the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
