Michael Sayre Obituary

Michael Sayre Charlotte Michael Sayre, 77, of Charlotte, MI died Sunday, November 2, 2008. Mr. Sayre was born November 28, 1930 in Detroit, MI, the son of Wade and Margaret (Baird) Sayre. Mr. Sayre was a sales representative for C&B Silo Company until 1975; when he purchased the Long Silo Company in 1980 and owned it until 1990. Mr. Sayre served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Sayre and his wife, Terry, were long-time fans of the Detroit Symphony and, later season ticket holders at the Wharton Center. Mr. Sayre is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Doug Fast) Sayre of East Grand Rapids, Kristin (Bill) Harper, of College Station, TX and Liza Sayre (Jim Tamarelli) of Charlotte. He is also survived by four brilliant grandchildren, Mason Fast, Tessa Fast, Connor Fast and Lucy Harper; brother, Billy Ed (Mary Ruth) Hostettler of Bloomfield, IN; brother-in-law, Roger (Sandy) Ricci of Grosse Pointe Woods; mother-in-law, Teresa Ricci of Harper Woods; aunt, Freda Baird of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Sayre, in 2005; daughter, Trish Michelle Sayre in 1974 and sister, Jean Johnson in 2005. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8th at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte, MI, with the Reverend Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to "Reading is Fundamental" of Eaton County (through Charlotte Women's Club) or the "Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan".
