Thanks.
Everyone who invested so much in our families grief and I am glad to report that we are all uplifted by our own separate church fellowships as well as each other. But most of all by friends, neighbors and those in the trenches with us, that my sons can know that family comes first. Thank you kids for your patience and a Mom is back on track because of a friend so dear. His name is Jesus. Our friend and my husband went to heaven, no way to know what that meant. In griefshare.com classes now, understanding that it takes months to realize the reality, it is essential to learn how to grieve. For all of us, lets me excited to be here today and ask God to teach us how to grieve so that we can give ourselves time to heal.
If I am grieving today, who am I grieving for? me. Then stop it and get on with your day, giving thanks in celebration for your own life today is great, because he made it great with his love and led me to Jesus, I led him to God. Figure that one out and you've got marriage in a nutshell. Nutty isn't it! Love

Mr. Cooley taught with my mother, Janet Coleman. I first met him when I was about ten years old. I always liked Mr. Cooley, and he told me that he knew my grandfather (Harold Coleman) and played softball with him. I never knew my grandfather, and so knowing someone who knew him as a contemporary was very important to me. I am sorry for your loss, and God bless you.

Our family has been blessed to have called the Cooley family friends and remember the joy and laughter Bob always added to our times together. How he and Rick our son picked on each other. He will be missed so much, but we are so thankful to know we will see him again. I'm sure he has brought a smile to Jesus face.

I don't know how long I've known Bob Cooley - perhaps a lifetime. As an all time favorite teacher and a dear friend of my dad's for decades, Bob's name was spoken daily in our home for years. Truly one of the great's. My heart goes out to the Cooley family with hope you rejoice in years of wonderful memories to help you through these difficult days.

RIP Mr. Cooley. The most inspiring and pure professor I ever had at CMU. I will teach healthy life styles and always speak of you never letting your legacy die. You inspired me to make a difference in peoples lives and my own and I thank you.

My name is Eric Pasman, son of Nora & Jeffery Green-Pasman. I would like to send my blessings and respect to an amazing, kind, gentle-hearted man. Bob was my P.E. teacher back in elementary school at Central in Okemos, Michigan. I was one of the first Jump Ropers for Jump Rope for Heart in the early 90's, in which we traveled as a team to other schools to preform and spread the word for the American Heart Association. Bob, you will be missed by many and I will always think of you as one of my father figures growing up as a kid in the Okemos Public School System.
Very Respectful,
Eric Pasman

News of Bob's tragic passing bridged 700 miles, and 39 years. That I am sad from those distances is another indication of Bob's genuineness, dedication to young people and sincerity in friendship. My sympathy to Bob's family includes the privilege it was to work with him at Central Elementary in the early '70's and every kind personal wish for thorough healing and peace. Know, too, that in spite of the distance we all now will experience, Bob's warmth, reliability and caring will remain close to our hearts. Godspeed,

Mr. Cooley taught us the difference between hearing and listening, the importance of respect, the birds and the bees, the value of teamwork, and countless other life lessons. Each day, when these concepts are put to use, a small part of him lives on. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten. My heart goes out his family, friends, and anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing of.

Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to know Professor Cooley for very long; however, he was such a kind and loving man. He had taught my physical education class for elementary teachers and I was so glad to have him as my professor. He had such enthusiasm for kids along with so much wisdom and experience. The time that my class got to spend with him was short, but the lessons that he taught will forever remain as we step into the classroom to use his teachings with our future students. My heart goes out to all of his family members and friends, and I will continue to pray that God will heal your pain and sorrow. I am so sorry for your loss and I feel so privileged to have met him. May his soul rest in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mary Ann and children. In the 43 years that we have known Bob, it has been wonderful to see your family mature into such a loving and articulate group of people. Being at the funeral home last evening and then at the funeral today, it was powerful to see the impact that he had on our lives. The service was dignified and informal and a number of us were commenting afterward how you all are so blessed with the communications skills you have. What a wonderful testimony it was. We will all miss just knowing that Bob was there and it must be especially hard for all of you. Please know that our continued prayers will be there for all of you as you experience the changes in your lives.

I had the pleasure of both working with Bob, and teaching two of his grand children. Bob was always such a positive, caring person, and it is clear to me that he has passed these traits down through the generations of his family. My heart goes out to the entire Cooley family. May you find peace during this difficult time.

Dear Mary Anne and family,
I was blessed (and I am not using religious speak) to have known Bob. He shouldered up with me when I first started teaching at Central Elementary. He and Bill Paul took me under their wings. My daughters Amy and Anna loved having him as their PE teacher. God answered my prayers when I was really needing Christian brothers in my path by placing Bob at Kinawa his last year of teaching. He helped me with the archery club(with out pay, which is typical of him). I am sorry for you loss. He was a great man. Praying for Jesus' presence to be especially strong for you during this time!

We will never forget Bob's easy smile and warm greetings or how he always looked like he knew something that you didn't and couldn't wait to tell you. He treated everyone with respect and dignity and was one of the best listeners on God's green earth. Bob genuinely cared and never said anything bad about anybody. The world is a little smaller without him but our lives were made a little brighter because of him. And Heaven has a new angel to watch over us all.

I only got to talk with Bob a few times, but saw that he was a good man who loved his family. I am so sorry to see that he had to leave without saying good-bye. 68 seems so young; it seemed so young last year when we lost Jim. But our loss is certainly their gain because they are in the very presence of our Wonderful Creator. How comforting it is to know that we will see them again. May the Lord comfort you all and hold you close to His heart so that you may feel His love and strength in the days yet to come.
