Ronald Schooler Obituary

Ronald R. "Shorty" Schooler Our loving dad, brother, uncle, grandfather, and good friend passed away on November 6, 2008 at the age of 61. Shorty was born in Lansing, MI on September 16, 1947. He was a Vietnam veteran, he served with the U.S Army from 1966-1972. He returned home and married, having 4 children Larry, Eunice, Michelle, and Jeffery. He became an avid builder and was happy as long as he was building something, somewhere, for somebody. He spent the last several years at Silver Lake where he enjoyed having anyone, and everyone come to visit him. He will be greatly missed by many. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. with services at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008 at First Assembly of God, 2717 West Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823. Any Donations please send to Theresa Treadwell, 2310 W. Miller Rd., Lansing, MI 48911; 517-749-5789. I LOVE U. The family is being served by Chapel In The Pines Funeral Home, Lansing.

Shorty was a fun loving person, always there to help those in need - he was a wheeler dealer and loved to help people out if they had something to buy/sell or trade. He was always trying to improve things around him, which I admire, because he had class. He would have been a great Realtor. Sid remembers him driving down the road from our house to his house with the hot tub he bought from us on the front of Leo's tractor. It was a sight to see. I fall victim to the fact that Shorty had been sick for a long time and in our busy lives we get caught up with ourselves and not others, and I regret the time that we didn't spend with him, because when we did spend time with him, he was always fun to be around. We just got back last night from our annual gift show in TN and were saddened to hear the news - we wish we could have been to the service yesterday - our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Shorty I'll never forget you, Always being a practical Joker, I can remember when I bought a new travel Trailer and you invited me, Scott, Danyelle, Ashley and Scotty all up too Silver Lake for the weekend, and you told me that you could sell my trailer in a heartbeat, the following morning people kept stopping by and wanting to look at the trailer, and I couldn't figure out why so many people wanted to look at the trailer, then I found out that you sneaked out the night before and stuck a For Sale sign on the front of trailer. I will always remember that. Thank you for all the laughs and great times and Thank you for being a good friend I will truly miss you. My Deepest Sympathy to the family.
