Charlevoix - STEVEN HUMPHREY SCHAEFER of Lansing and Charlevoix died December 10, 2020 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family and, in spirit, by all of those who loved him. Steven's parents, Richard Schaefer (Valerie) and Patricia Runquist (Jon), his siblings Ricky Schaefer, Stacey Gasior (Marc Swoish), and Patrick Schaefer (Gwen), and his nieces and nephews Adam, Andrew, Carson, Matthew, Carly, Grace, and Julia, and his entire extended family will forever cherish each day spent with him.

For those who were lucky enough to enter his world, possibly as part of his constant shenanigans, Stevie made a lasting and indelible impression. With his infectious smile and the heart of a giant, whether it was a one-time encounter or a life-time friendship, his impact on those he touched was profound. His ability to make each person feel special and loved is legendary. Stevie graciously left each and every one of us a piece of himself as a gift to cherish forever. Stevie will live on through each of us.

A private family funeral will be held in Charlevoix on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Arrangements are being made to celebrate our larger-than-life son, brother, uncle, and friend in both Lansing and in Charlevoix during the summer of 2021. Details will be provided when plans are finalized and will be announced via Facebook and other social media platforms.
