Formerly of Kalamazoo
Died Friday morning August 15, 2014 in Charlotte, MI. Tyler was born January 29, 1986 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Fred and Sharon (Russell) Rapp. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and Lansing area resident, as well, most recently in Charlotte. Tyler was employed with Emergent BioSolutions in Lansing for the past 7 years.
On August 18, 2009, he was united in marriage to Ashtyn (Thompson) Rapp who survives. Also surviving, 2 daughters, Maya and Sofia Rapp both of Charlotte; his father, Fred (Anne) Rapp of Augusta, MI; his mother, Sharon (Thomas) Musselman of Ocean Springs, MS; 4 siblings, Emily, Darby and Benjamin Rapp of Augusta, and Jason Musselman of Biloxi, MS; grandparents, Robert (Judy) Rapp of Portage, the late Dawn Rapp, and Earl and Wauneta Russell of Burlington, MI; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, loving in-laws and step family. Tyler had a gentle nature and adored his children. He will be dearly missed by those who love him.
Services will be held at 11 o'clock Friday at the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 E Main St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Ele's Place (a healing center for grieving children), 1145 W. Sharon, family, I remember talking with you at the Musselman get together at the beginning of August, and saying that I hoped one day to meet Tyler. That hope will not be realized. I'm sorry for everyone who is suffering after Tyler's death. It is my hope that time will diminish the sorrow, and that you feel God's presence especially over the days ahead.
