Eldon Bennett Obituary

Eldon Joseph Bennett LUBBOCK- Eldon Joseph Bennett, 59, of Lubbock died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers with a reception following. Eldon was born on March 9, 1954 to Keith and Dolly Bennett in Topeka, Kan. He graduated from Marysville High School in Marysville, Wash. Following graduation he joined the US Air Force. On May 26, 1973, while serving in the military, he married Rebekah Butler in Dumas, Texas. After serving six years in the US Air Force, Eldon moved to Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's degree of Architecture. Eldon owned his own business, EB Design. He was a member of the Shadow Hills Senior Golf Club. Eldon had a sense of design and creativity in everything that he aspired to and accomplished in life. He was a fantastic artist. He also enjoyed restoring classic cars, playing golf, camping, fly fishing, and grilling for family. He designed and built his cabin in Ruidoso, where he felt most at peace. Those left to cherish the memory of Eldon are his wife, Rebekah; a daughter, Carrie Jones and husband Justice; a granddaughter, Zoe Bella Jones, all of Austin; his mother, Dolly DeLong and husband Merle of Topeka, Kan.; father, Keith Bennett and wife Marleen of The Villages, Fla.; two sisters, Debbie Medlock of Topeka, Kan., and Daphne Euglow of Michigan; a brother, Robert Bennett and wife Janet of Topeka, Kan.; his extended family, mother-in-law, Doris Jones of Lubbock; father-in-law, Norman Butler and wife Barbara of Bracketville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Deborah and Bob Lee of Canyon, Bruce and Pam Butler of Lubbock, and Brad and Cindy Butler of Tulsa, Okla.; Uncle J also had numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
