Juanita Moreno Obituary

Juanita Lozano Moreno LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Juanita Moreno, 89, of Lubbock on Sunday, July 13, 2014, beginning with a Rosary at 7 p.m. followed by a time of sharing and fellowship. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 14, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with committal service following in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Juanita was born on June 23, 1925, to the late Enrique and Dolores Lozano in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She married Santos Moreno, Sr. on July 15, 1941 in Buenos Aries, Mexico. She moved to Lubbock from Lamesa in 1972. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a diligent prayer warrior. Survivors include her children, Rose Travis of Lubbock; Santos Moreno, Jr. and wife, Alda of Lamesa; James Moreno of Wylie; and Dell Moreno and wife, Alejandra of San Diego, CA; daughter-in-law, Essie Moreno of Lamesa; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elena Lozano and Lala Lozano, both of Guadalajara, Mexico. Along with her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Santos Moreno, Sr. on Feb. 15, 2011; a son, Enrique Moreno on Nov. 17, 2009; son-in-law, Ronald Travis on Jan. 12, 2008; a brother; three sisters; and a great-grandchild.
