Kathy Williams Obituary

Kathy A. Williams LUBBOCK-Funeral services for Kathy A. Williams, 60, of Lubbock will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Freedom Baptist Church, 302 40th St., in Lubbock, with Brother Andrew Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Lubbock Cemetery. Friends are invited to an evening prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, 407 N. University, Lubbock. Mrs. Williams passed on Oct. 30, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 18, 1954, in Lubbock to her late parents: Ephus and Minnie (Swagger) Abney. She was married to Bobby Joe Williams for 38 years. He passed on June 23, 2013. Kathy worked as a nurse aide for five years; she also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She also had a passion for computer games. Survivors include her daughters and spouses: Windy Gibbs (Doyle), and Sheila Hernandez (Andy); her grandchildren: Celena, Christopher and Crystal. She also leaves behind her two great-grandchildren, Coraline and Jayden. Kathy was preceded in death by her sisters: Betty Jean West, Frances Louise Mandrell, and Bessie L. Hill. Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to UMC Supportive Care West Tower for the palliative care given to their loved one.
